• Al Ghurair Centre creates awareness on waste management Monday 26 October 2015

    In an effort to raise awareness among the community about the perils of waste, Al Ghurair Centre hosted a consumer campaign on October 22nd and 23rd, 2015.The campaign directly targeted the community through an "edutainment" programme of events aimed to raise public awareness of waste-related issues. A recycling game taught participants how to separate recyclable from non-recyclable waste with the aid of a series of stress balls thrown into green and black bins among other activities.

    The move to organise this campaign was necessitated by a report released at the Eco-Waste conference hosted by Masdar, the Abu Dhabi sustainable energy company, which revealed that waste generated by the UAE will increase from 6.6 million tonnes to 8.4 million tonnes by 2017.

  • Al Ghurair Investment raises awareness about breast cancer Monday 07 September 2015

    Coinciding with the UAE Cancer Congress that took place from October 29th to 31st, 2015, Al Ghurair Centre organised a health awareness campaign in conjunction with the UAE Ministry of Health. The event took place at Al Ghurair Centre's Al Naadi Health Club where women turned out in large numbers, opting for free health check-ups.

    In 2015, there were more than 2.8 million women with a history of breast cancer in the US. This included women under treatment and women who had finished treatment. With breast cancer cases growing at an alarming rate, healthcare stakeholders and corporate and business entities have been joining hands to reduce the threat of breast cancer in the UAE.
