New Smart Cash Deposit Machines (SCDMs) have been introduced across the business, where Cars Taxi Captains can directly deposit the cash from fare collections. Previously, Captains dealt with in-office cashiers, resulting in idle time in waiting queues, and limited cash collection hours. With the new machines in place, Captains can deposit their cash directly, any time of the day or night, leaving them with more time to spend on the road, safely transporting customers across the UAE.
Commenting on the initiative, Badr Al Ghurair, CEO, Cars Taxi, said: “The new SCDMs have significantly optimised the cashiering process for our Captains, giving them more time to spend on the road with our valued customers!
The machines’ technology integrates seamlessly with regional taxi metres and our own ERP platform – so the cashiering process no longer requires any manual intervention. It’s a smoother process for all and will make a difference to our Captains on an everyday basis; thanks to our colleagues in Group Treasury for working with us to embed this great initiative!”
Nabeel Waheed, Group Head, Treasury & Finance, Al Ghurair Investment, comments: “A core element of Al Ghurair Investment journey is Think Group, where we actively seek opportunities to collaborate and centralise efforts.
This partnership between Cars Taxi & Group Treasury and Finance, spearheaded by Mudassar Deshmukh, Head of Finance, Cars Taxi, and Nehil Samdani, Group Senior Manager – Treasury, is a shining example of what can be achieved by working together – we have not only optimised the efficiency of the cashiering process, we have also significantly enhanced life for our Cars Taxi Captains!”
